Ok, so Dallas got a break, so did Washington when they were given the ball
on a fumble that wasn't.

The boobirds are out in New Orleans, however, I wouldn't go out and put the
blame on Shuler. The offensive line that I saw playing the other day would
try the talents of ANY player (Look at how Aikman looked Monday night). Heath
had a couple of bad tosses, however, he was ably assisted by not having time
to set up.

You know, for years I p&m about the fact that I thought that Tony Dungy was
head coach material and that he was being screwed by his color. It took a
little time last year for him to get his system put in, however, by the end
of the year, you could see a different Bucs' team and this year, they're
ready to make the transition to winner (Not necessarily Super Bowl or even
playoff but at least a team that will win more than they lose). This year
there were a lot of openings (Ok, let's be honest and discount the Jets)
and yet, Sherman Lewis wasn't given a chance for any of those offers. Yes,
they had to wait until after the Super Bowl, however, those same owners were
more than willing to wait for Dave Wannstedt, Mike Holmgren and Norv Turner.
I'm championing Lewis, however, there are several blacks that were qualified
and didn't get interviews. Right now, I don't see many openings next year
and if there are, the top name, as it should be, will be George Seifert. I
do think that after him, the other people interviewed will also be white.

What's the big deal about Parcells and the Super Bowl? I mean, the players,
media and fans make a big deal about how Parcells stole the Patriots'
thunder during the Super Bowl when the focus was on him, however, I think
that if it wasn't for that, the Pats would have been the focus of the madness
and the players would have been tight and they'd have been blown away by the
Packers. I think that the Tuna did them a favor by keeping the heat on him.

The price for Slocumb wasn't that high and he's actually pitched a lot better
than the two that were obtained from Toronto (Which isn't saying much because
his 6 saves were easy enough for anyone to get). The price for Timlin and
Spoljaric, however, continues to boggle the mind. Not only have they gone
way out to lunch, they cost the Mariners a pretty good player in Cruz. Since
going to the Mariners, they've had 1 save and 6 blown saves and their ERA is
at 5.00. I said it then and I'll say it again, Seattle panicked when Griffey
lashed out and they gave away the farm.

52 home runs and climbing. *IF* McGwire breaks Mantle's record with 62, he
will also tie Ruth's two-year record of 114 home runs. I know that people
think he's a long shot but most of them have never seen him when he's in a
groove.
