Russ, I don't have any info for you :(  But I DO have a question... how hard 
is it to replace that joint?  I have somewhat sloppy steering on my '80 F-150 
pickup, 351M, C-6 automatic, A/C, power steering and brakes, 9" rear.  Not as 
much play as you talk of though (more like 1" or 2").

Probably be the same for mine.  I've had a hard time finding a few parts for 
it lately (like the interior locks; they're the sliding type, which your 
truck probably has.. they only used them for 2 years with this body style)..
