This doesn't sound right.  Check for the clubs sponsers and do a little 
investigation.  They may have had a limit set in their charter and if so ask 
to be put on the waiting list.  The last time I saw this happen was a bunch 
of Good ole boys that wanted to have the field to themselves so they could 
drink without complaints.  Are you a member of AMA or the other?
try talking to them about where to exercise your wings.
