subject: PACKET

GE>RL>Word7 handled it, but I still want to be able to read what is
GE>RL>there using OLX.
GE>RL>GE>Once unzipped, what do you see?...
GE>RL>Uh, the monitor?
GE>RL>I'm missing the ###.NDX files.
GE>That's very strange. I took a QWK packet and deleted everything
GE>from inside it except CONTROL.DAT and MESSAGES.DAT.
GE>SLMR 2.1a and OLX 2.1 Test Drive both unzipped the QWK's 2 files,
GE>and began: "Scanning messages: Rebuilding index files: ....".
GE>Shelled to DOS & found those rebuilt NDX files in the "work" directory.
GE>Maybe the RBBS door isn't 100% QWK compatible, and is not storing the
GE>correct info in the 128 byte header of each message?
Me thinks that you've hit the nail on the head; maybe I need to either
complain to the sysop, or go to another board for bbSing.
GE>RL>Actually, what I need is some way to write the ndx stuff. As soon as I
GE>RL>can figure it out, the rest should be smiple.
GE>Message header arrangement: (Have fun)
Thanks. I think???
GE>Startbyte Length
Just for yucks - I went into the previous mail packet, extracted the ptr
file and uploaded it selecting previous figuring that the program would
download all of the missing stuff. Back came a packet that was 84k.
