subject: Help, ....

He you, in front of this screen....
I have a big problem with my textprocessor. I use daily a word-
textfile and update this files. No problems. But sometimes a error is happen.
If I open this file and only this file, then word crash. No keyboard
works, no mouse works. After reboot, the file is locked (special file in
/temp) and the file (the orginal in workdirectory) ist bad. Parts of text
are bad, and the bad behavior comes again.
Hardware: 486 w. 16 MB,
Software: Win 3.11, Word 6.0 (no a,b,c - only 6.0)
No Quicksave activ, .bak-files allowed, automatic-save on,
normal.dot is new, file is 44000 Byte, Word says about 30000
characters, not to much formatchanges, no macros.
I can load this file on a other computer (WinNT 3.51, Word 7.0, 16 MB)!
The "bad" part of the text shows only the character "y" for some lines. A
Hexdump shows: It is not "y", it is the ASCII asterix (*)!.
This happend not always. Maybe 50% of opening this file.
Is there anybody having a idea or -great- a solution?
Please help.
Bye
Rainer
