To start with, you can try using the HELP feature and search for 'Setting Tab
Stops'. It give's you the basic information on selecting the types of tabs.
In brief;
You select the type of tab (as mentioned in my last message) by clicking on
the small box at the far left of the ruler. Each click will change the tab
type.
You can set the tab prior to typing your text or align everything later on.
If your doing it later, place the cursor just in front of the number you want
aligned, select the tab-type you require, the click on the ruler, a yellow
grid line will appear showing where the tab will appear in the document. When
you release the mouse, the number will 'snap to' the tabbed position.
I'd suggest testing the different tabs and settings in a test document for a
short time and, it will become clear in no time.
Hope that helps!
Mark
