I'll dig up the responses that were posted to my original question and post a 
short summary of them. That should help ya out.
You mentioned 'filled in to the left. It sounds like you almost had it. The 
tab symbol should look like an upside down 'T' with a period to th right of 
the symbol. Then it will put whole number's on the left of the tab and rest 
of your figure to the right of the decimal.
