DS> I have been using Qmodem TestDrive 4.52 since I started modeming.
DS> It has been a great program for me, and I even returned a
DS> commercial program that did not work as well (and ate the shipping
 DS> costs).
DS> Lately I have been having a problem that might just be inherent in the
DS> program, or it might be that I do not have something set right.
DS> The primary BBS I use recently made some major changes (in phone lines
DS> and in BBS software) and ever since then, I have been getting errors
DS> on downloads with some degree of regularity. That would not be so bad
DS> if Qmodem would recover from the errors as I think it is supposed to.
 DS> What happens is
 DS> CRC error,
 DS> Sending ZRPOS
DS> perhaps a few other error messages, but then a total freeze. Only
DS> hitting the ESC key to cancel has any effect.
DS> It does not handle restart / overwrite of file at all either, same
DS> effect if I try of several cycles of error messages, and then freeze.
DS> I am using SIO com drivers with OS/2 Warp 3.0, at FP26.
DS> Some of the toggle settings:
 DS> Xon/Xoff flow OFF
 DS> CTS/RTS flow ON
RTS when Writing OFF might try turning this on
 DS> FIFO during Shell ON
DS> Lock DTE Baud Rate ON
 DS> High Speed Xmit ON
 DS> 16550 UART Enable ON
 DS> Init ignores CD OFF
DS> -- and under Options, runtime parms
EMS for Overlays OFF might try turning this on
 DS> Int16 Enable ON
 DS> Share IRQ's OFF
 DS> Optimum Shell ON
 DS> -- Disk Shell ON
 DS> Calibrate DELAY OFF
DS> I have read (and re read ) the DOC file on these settings and
DS> twiddled around with those I am not sure of.
DS> I have a USR Sportster 28800, and speed is set at 57600.
DS> Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
I used the testdrive 4.5 with a 28800 and it worked great, what sensitivity
do you give in your Dos parms under OS/2 ? Try at least 75-100 ..
Good luck,
                                -=>Jp<=-
