Hello again, Captain D...
RM> time now - glad to see you posting again - what's going on with you
JM> My 'real life' has been getting in the way!
Hey, guy, you gotta get your priorities set...I did several years ago...I
retired early 'cause my "work stuff" kept getting in the way of my "good
leisure stuff"...so I told the boss to take my job and give it to someone
else...so there !!! (Actually, my computer application jobs were running
out (completed OK), I reached early retirement age, the company offered
a "deal I couldn't refuse", my retirement nestegg was in good shape, and
I couldn't see myself doing mundane chores after the exciting, challenging
days - really weeks and years - of making computers do interesting things).
JM> I had a pretty extensive software contract I was working on.
I wish I had gotten into computer applications, including programming,
years before I did, finally, at age 50 - my work involved setup and
programming of industrial computers (DEC's VAX system and Honeywell's
DCS systems) in synthetic polymer work - most programming was in FORTRAN
with just a little in Pascal, never got into C but wish I had. That's
the most enjoyable work I ever did - I envy you guys that are deep into
it - I miss it - actually, that's the only stuff I miss about the job.
Anyway, it's good to see you on the echo again - tell us about your
latest flying creation. TTYL - Roger
