BJ> Did you find anything in .INI files that needed BJ> cleaning out at any place in the system related to BJ> this? I haven't played that game.... ML> Absolutely nothing showed up in checking the .INI files ML> about this. Good then I'm clean concerning this one.... ML> Curiously, what I need is only the 16 color 80X24 line ML> video for what I want! That's one of the reasons I ML> wanted to study this. Ok.... Then the (n)curses package and running in VT-100 / ANSI.SYS mode should work for you.... ... BJ> And OS/2 TEDIT does nasty things to s in text BJ> files.... And make that came in GCC321.ZIP does BJ> differenciate between and eight spaces. :( ML> I thought a tab was supposed to be five not eight ML> spaces? Why would that change in OS/2? Most type writters and most modern word processors used 1/2 tab spacing. At 10 CPI, that was 5 characters. Most (older) ASCII based terminals set up tab characters to stop every eight columns (i.e. next character in columns 9, 17, 25, etc.).... Most software now makes tabs adjustable, but I think ASCII text editors that substite tabs for white space still use the 8 character rule by default.... BJ> Ok, where did I hide that copy of a VI clone for OS/2? ML> I didn't know it existed. Found about three searching my BBS file areas.... Need to find one I like and works right.... BJ> Come join the fun / insanity on working on the code.... ;) ML> People keep giving me Linux installation this and ML> that's. At the moment I don't have a box with which to ML> do that. ML> However .. two of the boxes now have 9GB worth of free ML> drive space. I was thinking about CONNECTIX, but don't ML> have the CPU power at the moment, though I do have the ML> memory for this... I'm getting there. Good luck..... Take care..... Bob Jones, 1:343/41 --- Maximus/2 3.01* Origin: Top Hat 2 BBS (1:343/41) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 343/41 10/345 106/1 2000 633/267 |
