To qualify for the Upgrade version of Word 7.0 you must have a
wordprocessor on your system or the first installation disk of a
wordprocessor. These wordprocessors include WP 5.1 and other quite old
programs. The Word version from Office 97 will probably have the same
requirements.
BTW while installing Excel 7.0 requires an old spreadsheet program and
installing Access 7.0 requires a database, the whole Office suite
upgrade can be installed by having either a wordprocessor or a
spreadsheet or a database or a presentation program. IOW the first
installation disk of say WP5 is enough to qualify for the entire Office
suite!
