BL> ... code chomped and saved for study

BL> Thanks for that, Doug. That's very instructive, and it's
BL> confirmed
BL> my worst fears about Pascal... it's a do-it-yourself
BL> language.
But you only need to do it once. Once saved compiled in a unit (or DLL in
Delphi?) you call it whenever you need it. It will be there just like any
inbuilt VB thingo. Pascal may not have all the functions VB does built in
but they are not hard to add and you'll have more control over what your
code actually does.

BL> I'm used to VB where it's all done for you, and the
BL> functions are
BL> pretty-much all there is. The problem is that I'm constantly
BL> working
BL> around things. In Pascal, it looks like I'll have to invent
BL> even the
BL> most basic functions. Aaarrrgh!
You've been spoon fed too long.. :)

BL> But that code was a great help. There were a couple of
BL> nice little
BL> tricks in there and it's good to see Pascal used properly,
BL> rather than
BL> my poor version. I guess I'll get there eventually.
Have a look at my message to Ian Smith for a big cockroach in the code in
the first message.

Doug.
