Hey All!

Creating a source tarball of Google's translate from git;

 > git clone https://github.com/soimort/translate-shell.git
 > cd translate-shell
 > git archive --format=tar --prefix=trans-0.9.7.1/ v0.9.7.1 | xz > trans-0.9.7.1.tar.xz

You should now have a file called trans-0.9.7.1.tar.xz in the translate-shell directory ready for further action.  After bulding and installing 'trans --version' reports;
