CR> Mark: I'm running Qmodem Pro on my Pentium under Windows 95 with a
CR> USR Sportster 28.8 with no problem at all. What you need is a newer
CR> Modem Definition File which you can get from Mustang Softwares Web
CR> Site. At least you could get it there the last time I checked. It is
CR> called "Qmodem.pdf". I just checked the file I have and it has a
CR> definition for a SUPRA 28,800 Modem. If you can receive files by
CR> E-mail, I can send it to you. My E-mail address is below.
Hello Charles, thanks for the reply. I have already downloaded the qmpro.pdf
file from the Mustang Softwares Web Site. I have already installed it in
my qmodem directory, without any different results. Qmodem pro loads up
just fine, and says that I am in terminal mode. When I type letters on the
screen though, nothing happens, so I put it on half-duplex, now I see
the letters on the screen, but the modem is not responding. When I type
AT on the screen, I don't get the usual OK response from the modem.
Aparently, this PNP modem, don't respond to DOS related programs, or I
definitely have some parameter set up wrong. So, I attempt to type the
reset modem characters, +++, again with no reaction from the modem. I have
even changed the IRQ settings, thinking that maybe the IRQ's are wrong.
Again, with no luck. I am totally perplexed (sp?), and just don't have
any answers. This version of qmpro is pretty old. The last qmodem.pdf file
on it only had a VERY few 14400 modems on it.
Anyhoo Charles, I am VERY open for advise? Have any clues?
Thanks again for the reply, and will be waiting for your help.
