Dave said he couldn't find any in his home town so I did some
googling as to where it's available. It turns out that it's not all
that new after all, although I only came across it a few weeks ago (I
don't drink soda pop very much and very rarely is it a cola of some
sort.) It was first formulated in South America and has been
available nationally in the States since 2014 and in Canada since
2016. So Dave's stores could stock it if they chose to. You should
be able to find it even if it's not in every single store.

      Title: Kent's Cherry Cuba Libre Jell-O Shots
 Categories: Beverages, Alcohol
      Yield: 8 servings
 
      1 sm Box cherry jell-o
      1 c  Boiling water
    1/2 c  Cold coca-cola
    1/2 c  White rum
 
  Mix Jello and boiling water and let cool.
  
  Mix remaining ingredients together, then blend into jello and water.
  Pour into 2-ounce cups or a large pan and chill. If in a large pan,
  cut into two ounce or smaller servings before serving.
