the Alouettes, actually
Having confronted Dr. Mark, Bob Eldred, International Man Of Mystery,
exclaimed:

BE> So I was flipping through the channels the other day, and the Deuce
BE> had a CFL game on. One of the teams had 1 point. How does a
BE> football team score 1 point?
A single point can be scored in three ways:

     1) If a field goal attempt is missed and the ball goes out of play
in the end zone, if an opposition player in the end zone touches
the ball and it goes out of play there, or if the ball is fielded
in the end zone by and opposition player and is not run out into
        the field of play.

     2) If a punt goes out of play in the end zone, if an opposition
player in the end zone touches the ball and it goes out of play
there, or if an opposition player fields the ball in the end
zone and does not run it out into the field of play.

     3) If a kickoff is touched by an opposition player in the end zone
and the ball goes out of play there, or if an opposition player
fields the ball in the end zone and fails to run the ball back
into the field of play. If the ball crosses the dead ball line
untouched no point is awarded, if the ball goes out of bounds on
the sidelines, a five yard penalty is assessed.

                                              Sincerely Yours

                                              David G. Riess
