BL> To: Keith Richardson KR> ok bob, heres a uucp reader, or more exactly a ".d" file KR> reader. its very basic, everything is hard coded, and there is KR> no error checking, but it aint too bad for 90 mins coding. BL> Why on earth did you waste your time with this? As you say, it's a BL> ten-minute job in Delphi, but if I want to read raw d.file messages I BL> use just QEDIT. I'm writing a complete mailer, not a TMemo component! if i want to look at a raw .d file i use notepad as god intended. that way i can have the file open on the screen as i write the code. anyway, if it is so easy for you, how come you seem to be having so much trouble with text files and writeln? if you want to write a mailer in delphi, and you dont use a tmemo, then you have rocks in the head, thats the basis of what i am using now, and its the best tool for the job, unless you update to proper 32 bit stuff, then you can use trichedit. BL> Why not do something useful like write UUCICO or GZIP in Pascal? BL> That would *really* impress me, but this doesn't. actually i dont give a flyin fuck about impressing you (: i may write a delphi uucp comms program if i can get motivated, but it will have to wait until i finish my perl performance plotter, coz that **will** impress my boss, and i do give a flying fuck about impressing him. keith @EOT: --- WinPoint 0.2.08 Alpha* Origin: Malfunction Junction (3:712/610.6) SEEN-BY: 711/934 712/610 @PATH: 712/610 711/934 |
