which is why a better method would be to simply use the net as transport, using
file attached mail to do it. each board simply connects to their isp, and sends
a mail message with the packet attached to each node that it supplies, and
similarly receive packets from them in exactly the same way. it would be cheap
and private, and the old fido message programs could still be used, just
replacing the actual communications program.
