Hello, David, it is a great day here.

Lo> Warmer than the -30? {BG} Cold and wet here, as usual. That
 Lo> penetrating type of rain.

Going home for a week or two now, forecast of -23 C.

JP> You want to know where this originated ? Cute.

Lo> Heard something on that, about the container for the cannon balls.
Lo> Which could be just a legend. Yeah would like to hear the origins of
 Lo> that story/expression.

That is still it, not a legend. They were stacking up the cannon balls
as beer cans are held together now, sort of some loops made of brass
that had a coefficient of dilatation different from the balls
themselves so with the cold they got loose and fell off. It was called
a monkey as it looked in silhouette, like the small monkeys in Gib. I
wonder if there is any on sale one eBay ?

Lo> BTW: Just wanted you to know that this is being sent with Wave for
Lo> the 128. Yupper, the same Geos 128 that I picked up from you a while
 Lo> ago.

Oh ! I do not remember this. Wait. Maybe. I know that I got a copy for
a friend here, to be legal and not do Maurice out of his well earned
revenue and this friend was in over his head and gave it back to me.
Maybe then you were the lucky one. That is a "while" ago.

Lo> Can't tell you why he is staying with our platform. Perhaps it has
Lo> something to do with what I have been hearing from others that left
 Lo> the C=.

I only got interested in something else as I was "handed up" a 486 that
my daughter had replaced. Could not turn down such a gift. But I still
miss Wheels. That was fun to use. I had a 24 pin #4 attached to it and
 the results were quite nice.

Lo> All of the ones that I know and spoken too, are now lost in
 Lo> Windrone.

Can not say that I am lost, my daughter for 4 years, coded for MS and
she sees that I keep my head above water. And as an employee she could
get me all kinds of SW at ridiculous price, <10% of the market cost.

Keep plugging at the 8bit world.
