PE>> Hi Bob. I got the following file in my uucp directory, not sure of
PE>> the significance...

Incidentally, I managed to lose that directory, I couldn't find my
"uucp directory" last night, to see if I could spot anything.
I'll try again.

PE>> U news scorpio
PE>> Z
PE>> F D.scorpio0002
PE>> I D.scorpio0002
PE>> C rnews

BL> AHH! Tanks, Paul. I sent three hand-made messages to scorpio: mail
BL> 0001, and two news 0002 and 0003... all uncompressed.

Did you see them getting transferred?

PE>> Also, can you attempt to send me some uncompressed mail, so
PE>> that I can see what it is that's coming in?

BL> I did... so what happened to 001? ROFL!

It certainly wasn't in the same place I found that other file.

PE>> BTW, I'll try to send you mail uncompressed...

BL> That's good. I can see what's in the X.file I get. My system should
BL> handle uncompressed mail and news both (unless I've forgotten about
BL> the CRs).

BL> ... thinks... how the hell can I write a text file without crs?

I use "crlffix" from OZPD. If you're a bit of a fuckwit you
could use fopen with "wb". BFN. Paul.
