Finally worked out quoting on this beastie. Whew.

PE> I am now confused as to what you are trying to do. I

PE> 1. Do you want to point off me or not? (if yes, you
PE> should get hold of "TMLJOIN.TXT" from me either by FREQ
PE> or download from file area 1).

Yes I plan on pointing off you.

PE> 2. Do you want to maintain your 712 node number or not?
PE> (if yes, there is no reason to point from me, if you
PE> want to collect/send mail to me you can do so without
 PE> becoming a point).

Once I start pointing off you, no.

PE> 3. Do you want to use Tobruk to process your mail? If
PE> the answer is yes, you will need to use the *.MSG
 PE> messagebase.

I want to use Tobruk. However, I'm trying to set up my system so that it
will also be possible to feed you (and through you the rest of Fidonet if
you want) with Usenet News. Tobruk may not be able to handle that, and so
I may have to use something else.

PE> 4. Do you want to use Msged to read your mail? If so,
PE> you will need to use *.MSG if you are using Tobruk,
PE> Quickbbs may or may not work, but you need to use
PE> something (unknown) other than Tobruk to scan your mail.

I would like to use MsgEd, but it doesn't work real well. Read the file
I'm sending today to find out the problems I've found so far in
Tobruk/Msged with Linux.

PE> 5. Are you going to try to get Devil Dialer working?

Yes.

PE> 6. If you are going to point off me, are you going to
PE> try to use a variant of DD to get the mail?

No. I want to use a very simple Fido compatible mailer.
