RB> About right, my '77 F250 has 200k on it now (that I can attest to)
RB> and my '79 E150 van has just on 150k this month. It's not worn out,
RB> just worn in.
Well, the 30k I've put on it have been pretty hard miles... offroading (yes,
in a 2 wheel drive truck :) ), Stop Light Nationals, Interstate Grand Prix,
etc... it's still running, but I think I've got some carb problems (if I
don't let it warm up at least a few minutes when I first start it, it dies
when I put it in gear, unless I keep my foot on the gas.. once it's been
driven a block or so it's fine)... one of these days I'm just going to rip
off that lousy 2 bbl and put on a 4 bbl intake and carb..
RB> I was going to mention J.C. Whitney, as well as a scrapyard (although
RB> that is a hard thing to find in good shape being made of plastic as
RB> they are). If I come across a supplier when I pick up a Hemmings
Plus I've only found ONE scrapyard that had a truck with the right panels
(pirated the locks out of that one already; the passenger side slider broke
apart awhile back)... I've tried calling the ones I haven't been to,
especially the ones that mention that have "Old trucks" in their yellow pages
ads.. guess what? "Old" means 1985-1990 if you go by their rules :-/.
RB> they are). If I come across a supplier when I pick up a Hemmings
RB> Motor News later in the week, I'll shoot a message your way. Maybe
I'll pick up a copy of that tomorrow... :)
