JE>I was under the impression that backups had two main purposes: JE>1. Give one the ability to recover grunged data in case of a disastrous JE>failure. This would enable one to recover and use his programs and data JE>if his HD totally failed - I have had to do exactly that. My HD became JE>unusable due to a mechanical failure. I used True Image to restore ALL JE>to a new HD. True but somen programs make it very inconvinent to back up just the data easily. Mostly by Thinking THEY know better where the Data should reside then you the Operator does. I being small potatoes don't have to much data to back up but I have a bat file that drops to DOS and uses XCOPY to copy my most important Data to a Removable drive. --- þ SLMR 2.1a þ This note from El Cajon California USA* Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 123/140 500 106/2000 633/267 |
