On or about 12-29-05 15:16, JEAN PARROT did engage JAMES BRADLEY JP> Hello James, nice talking to you ! Likewise! Hope the holidays were joyous? JP> And I could continue with my list of #2 machines. JP> You need not, James. We all know that these fine machines are JP> quite useable still. I am overpowered here with a 2.53 GHz CPU. And JP> I use the machine just for fun. I was on a Commodore 64 for years JP> with a 64kbs RAM. It was my pride and joy all along. My first box too! I read many years after they were out of production, a fellow and his company were buying as many C=64 as they could get their hands on. His genius was to attach the A->D converters to boilers/whatever, and have them call the office if something was going outside the acceptable parameters. He also had enough solenoids/logic switches hooked up to them to troubleshoot all but one abnormality since installing them. When all my friends asked, "Why didn't you buy a playstation, (or whatever) instead?" Well, not only could we play some games, but I could write a letter on it too! Built in machine language too. JP> I do not play any games and the only time that I might taax JP> this CPU is when doing digital photo work. I know that feeling. I just moved #1c, and now NOTHING wants to work on it but the LED power light and the fans. Tomorrow is another day. Maybe fresh eyes will find something. When the sun burns off the fog, it'll be easier to see inside also. JP> Have fun, as much as I. That might be impossible. (-; JP> From TI, one down, one to go ! JP> Happy 2006 to all. Top of the new year to you, Jean! ...
