My DSL connection speed is 768kbs.

The MAX speed I pay for can be up 1.5mbs but as you probably know from
reading this Echo, that the distance you live from the phone companys
central office determines the speed you can use DSL at.

I live close to the 18,000 foot edge from the central office.  :-(

Also as you probably know, Cable broadband is a lot faster than DSL,
so you have to decide if you want the slower data rate that DSL offers.
