Replying to a message of TOM WALKER to JAY EMRIE: E>>> EV>It got me wondering if my friends words were true about ALL CFLs E>>> being EV>made in China so I thought I'd ask here in the Tech Echo E>>> for you all to EV>look at the packaging and see if your brand of E>>> CFLs are also made in EV>China? JE>> All that I have here are made in China. Since they contain mercury I JE>> wouldn't be surprised that it is true. TW> And Mercury is REQUIRED for a CFL to work. Are you sure of that? I think it's phosphorus powder that makes the glow. 'course, phosphorus can kill you too, just not quite as quickly. My boss is eventually going to get into trouble with the DEQ (state EPA) people because he puts dead fluorescent tubes in the dumpster - which gets emptied into the landfill. --- FleetStreet 1.19+* Origin: Bob's Boneyard, Emerson, Iowa (1:300/3) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 14/300 34/999 90/1 120/228 123/500 134/10 140/1 222/2 226/0 SEEN-BY: 249/303 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1410 1418 266/1413 280/1027 SEEN-BY: 320/119 393/68 396/45 633/104 260 267 285 690/682 734 712/848 800/432 SEEN-BY: 801/161 189 2222/700 2320/100 2905/0 @PATH: 2905/3 14/5 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
