JB> TW> SO gows the state of repair of the old Copper
JB> TW> Lines. And it will
JB> TW> ONLY get worse, SO be grateful for what you
JB> TW> have. I am and youer lines
JB> TW> sound like what I have.

JB>*Exactly* my point. (Read previous.) We've had a blackout of service from
JB>morning to afternoon, with hardly a mention or a whisper of an apology. I've
JB>called next door, about five times one day, at *least* twice punching in the
JB>numbers, and the call didn't even ring his phone. Other calls did that very
JB>afternoon, so, his equipment was working.

JB>I don't think we have to "be happy" with this, but others
seem to go along w
JB>it.

NO you don't have to be Happy with it. I sure am not. But comming back
to Reality there is NOTHING that can be done. Unless you want your Phone
bill to Double or more. Affordable semi reliable service is jsut going
ot be a "Fact" of life. And as Consolidation is allowed amongst the
phone companies it is just going ot get wrose. Because all the Controls
that were on the Old AT&T system are now GONE.
