| subject: | Acronis True Image |
I made a very disconcerting discovery about True Image yesterday. About a week ago I decided to remove my log on password for XP. Got tired of having to type it in when I am the only one using my computer, so I changed the password to NONE. I soon noticed the my programmed running (Full back up on Sunday and incremental backups Mon thru Sat) of True Image was failing. Turns out that True Image must have the XP password being used when TI was installed UNCHANGED in order to run. After reinstalling the original XP password TI now runs faultlessly. I never would have figured this out by myself at least in the short time my friend, Wilk, took, (another retired IBM Customer Engineer - CE as we were called, Actually he was a Specialist - and he determined the cause. He can read all about a program, then months later he can recall every word! He is one of the very few with an actual photographic memory. Sure is nice to have such friends.
