RF> Zombies and science don't mix. Anyone who
RF> knows anything about
RF> science knows that *nothing* resembling a zombie
RF> could ever exist. Zombies
RF> are derived from the voodoo religion; specifically, Haitian voodoo.
KV> Why not? It's not imposible for scientists or engineers to develop some
KV> kind of chemicals when injected into the blood stream
KV> to induce zombie like
KV> qualities in the individual. So far no one has done
KV> this that we know about.
KV> Although I wouldn't be suprised if the government or some pharmacutical
KV> company has made some type of biochemical weapon of some type. Nothing
is
KV> impossible unless you believe it's impossible. Just
KV> like when people thought
KV> the world was flat.
Like I said, it's totally impossible. Zombies are made out of
rotting flesh; anything whose flesh is rotting is dead. The behaviour could
be induced, theoretically, through some sort of chipset, but that's years
into the future. But chemicals? No.
Science was just used as a convienient plot device by RE's writers.
RF> Not necessarily. There's a voodoo rite
RF> which is supposed to bring
RF> zombies to life, and it doesn't involve what we think of as demons.
KV> Who said it had to be voodoo rite? It could be
KV> something else say unleashing
KV> the powers of the Necronomicon(which isn't real I know) like in Evil
Dead.
Voodoo would simply make more sense, seeing as zombies were imagined
by voodoo priests. But I suppose you could use some other type of magic.
RF> I've seen Army of Darkness. It's a great
RF> parody. I love that scen
RF> towards the end of the film, when Ash pumps 32
RF> shotgun rounds into an evil
RF> *without reloading*! That was obviously a poke at
RF> movies like those of John
RF> Woo, where the characters never seem to pop in a single fresh clip.
KV> If you liked AOD you should check out the first two.
Maybe sometime, but there are other movies I'd want to see first.
