subject: Status Bar

Hi Brad,

And thus Brad let it be known to -=>All<=-:

BB> My program copies files from one directory to another and what I was
BB> wanting to do was to add a status bar to show the progress rate of how
BB> much % is left befor it's all done. Any help would be greatly

I did something like this for a sorting routine I wrote, it was quite easy
and gave the user something to look at while the computer did the boring
stuff.

To actually make the status bar is simple, but you need to get the size of
the file you are copying, and the current total of bytes copied, it's then
just a matter of working out the %age of file copied and drawing the
representation on the screen.

The hard part is finding out how to get flie sizes, and the amount of bytes
copied. Since I have never done anything like it, I can't help you there,
but if you would like to see how I drew my status bar then let me know.

Cya,

Pete
