My guess is that the prize would have to go to the fellow at Goddard (I
think his last name is Chen) who has been working on making fibrglass resin
mirrors and having some success. They are about 1/4 inch thick, all over.

I doubt that it would be easy to replicate his success, however. For all I
know the process may have become classified because I haven't heard
anything about this for a couple of years now, even though he showed one of
his prototypes to NOVAC at a star party.
