Welcome, if you want to know - - - ask. You won't find anyone patronizing
you on the list and the generosity of knowledge is without equal.
For a " know very little " beginner I recommend you pick up a three
volume set titled " Amateur Telescope Making " published by the
Scientific American, edited by Albert Ingalls in the early sixties and is
available from Willmann-Bell ( www.willbell.com ). Although there is much
dated information i.e. electronics, it is the most comprehensive coverage
you will find. Many on the list post their progress on the web and you can
find more than you need to know on the internet once you understand the
vocabulary.
