Greetings:
Anyfilkers in Northeastern Ohio? A professional writer in Oberlin would
like to know. I am interested in submitting an article on filking to a
Cleveland publication. My writing partner has introduced me to the
wonderful word of filking and I began researching the topic at OVFF last
October in Columbus but didn't run into any filkers from Lorain,
Cuyahoga, Geauga, Ashtabula, Lake, or Medina counties. I talked with a
number of long-time filkers such as Juanita Coulson, and several
founders of Columbus' filking community as well as with Solmon Davidoff
from Bowling Green who did his master's thesis on filking. I have
considerable background and history on the subject, but I also would
want to localize it with profiles of several filkers in the greater
Cleveland area. If you are willing to talk with me about being
interviewed, either in person or over the phone, but contact me via
betty_gabrielli@qmate.cc.oberlin.edu All Best, BG.
