There's a new aluminum foil made by Reynolds called Release.  It has a
non-stick surface on one side, and so might be just the thing for making
star laps and the like.  It costs better than twice as much as the regular
stuff, which is to say, nothing.  I've only used it for cooking so far, but
I can say it really doesn't stick.  Should remove easily from laps without
leaving bits and pieces behind.
