Hello all,
I recently purchased a Jaeger refractor lens and a equatorial head. The
lens is 4.125 inches in a cell. It has never been used, it came in the
original shipping box. The cell is not much larger than the lens, which
leaves me with a problem of finding a OTA, to house it. Is there anyone on
the list that is familiar with Jaeger lenses, and can suggest a method of
mounting it in a tube. I thought about buying a five inch tube and having
a ring cut to allow it to fit. And I guess my next problem will be to find
a focuser that will match the tube or one that has a flat base.
In addition to the lens, I was also fortunate to get an (early model)
Edmund Scientific Equatorial head. It's the head only and missing the
vertical adjustment base that I assume attached it to a tripod. Anyway, it
too is brand new and never used. It does track, with A/C voltage (which I
will call on you all later to me help convert to D/C. I will describe it as
best as I can, hoping some one who might have some literature about this
unit,i.e., owner/operator's manual. Or, can give me some information about
the eq.
For starts it is gray, with a telescope support tray that is V shaped with
flat bottom. I has a single tracking motor which is A/C, and a wedge shaped
point that is used to mount to the tripod. Not much of a discription, the
only other information I could give would whats stamped on the stepper
motor
Is there anyone who might have some manufacturer's information you could
send me copies of?
Many Thanks,
Arthur
I still haven't tested my periscope lens yet, hopefully soon.
