Hi Bill

Do a web search for Michael Covington's Alcor drive corrector. It will
allow you to keep the 60hz synchro motor and run it off of 12vdc. As a
bonus you can bump the speed up or down with push buttons to make
corrections, and it also has a switch to go to lunar rate.
