From: "Bob May" To: "atmlist" Reply-To: "Bob May" I've found that gathering up the glass and grit from the workspace and cleaning out the fine stuff (the glass floats very well and the fine broken down grit also tends to float for a while) by washing and pouring off the water will recover the 80 grit very nicely. I've also picked up used grit from others, nicely cleaning up their workspace and recovering grit from them. I got about six pounds of grit from one guy at RTMC one year who had been grinding there as an exibition as he was just preparing to throw everything away. Remember that 80 grit is just used for hogging and it is very difficult to get scratches or such from other stuff as the grit is so coarse. Besides, even if you did get a scratch from some rock that got into your grit, it will be gone before you get to the 120 grit or whatever you use next.
