Or does it have to handle arguments CM> and stuff as well? I meant a write() procedure that would work for strings, converting integers, characters, floats and strings automagically. printf() is equivalent (more-or-less) to write() in Pascal, but it has its string version: sprintf() which is very handy. CM> Null-Strings/PChars are a wee bit of a mess in pascal in my CM> opinion, as are some aspects of Pointers compared with using C. You get used to them, once you realise you don't have a safety net and have to make sure that they always point at what you meant them to point at. I rather like the Pascal approach. The big advantage of Pascal in my experience, is that you can understand what other people have written. C, with its shortcut notations, is as obscure as the inside of a bear's bum.
