DOOL    -  Looks like the curtain's come down on Days of Our Lives's
        Matthew Ashford (Jack). According to sources, the actor received
        his walking papers from the show last week. The surprising
        release seems to substantiate reports that Days's new headwriter,
        the recently reinstated James Reilly (who also writes Passions),
        is trimming the cast for tighter storylines. A Days spokesperson
        would only state that the show does not comment on contract
        rumors. In other Days news, soap vet Judy Evans Luciano, who
        first appeared on Days as Adrienne Johnson in the late '80s,
        joins the show as Bonnie Lockhart, Mimi's mother, on Sept. 1. 
        - We will see blood on Rex's sleeve, and a heavy pipe at his
        feet, with Cassie standing by. Bo and Hope will be rushed to the
        hospital, where doctors will have to drill holes in their heads
        to relieve pressure on their brains. Bo will wake up, but it
        won't be such a fast recovery for Hope. Belle, Philip, and Shawn
        will uncover Rex's five year plan to amass power and wealth.
