       They can be COOL.  Seriously, if Lara was real and the princess was 
real, I bet you would prob choose the princess over Lara if they were the 
only females that existed.
       I know that they're pixels and all, but with today's graphics and 
memory capacity (at least PSX and SAT), characters have more background and 
personality.  Therefore, if a situation came up, you could predict what the 
character would do.
