I plan to respond to many statements listed on the wire in one listing
instead of trying to address
them one at a time., (to save space and time) 1. I have never met John
Dobson, I can not pass judgement on this man.
Some on the list say
he is arrogant, stuck up, short worded, and set in his way & that that
is the only way.... Well my old dog,
my Grandfather, and my 30 year old boots are the same. But none of these
have a telescope named
after them, or a type of telescope that most ATMers base their designs after.....

2. Ron Lippard was looking for Coatings for mirrors... Ron I don't know
where you live but if you go to
the following sites it may help.. hclaus{at}interaccess.com or
lenses{at}aol.com or
  www.spectrum-coatings.com orinfo{at}majestic-coating.com or
www.angelfire.com/mac/moonwardvc
there are probably more but I don't have them listed..

3. Harold asked what a "Beam Compass" was... Well most carpenters know
what this is if they
ever poured a driveway. A beam compass is basically a beam or board (as
straight and rigid as possible)
with the pivot point being one end and the compass, or rotating end, being
the other. Imagine your
pencil's eraser with a pin through it and the lead making the mark on the
paper.. the only difference
is the paper is the glass. (You can generated a curve on a mirror blank
using a beam compass set at
the ROC desired) Its really pretty simple...

4. Ken mentioned he mis-read Bob May's listing but it rings true

                                                                     EVERY
MIRROR IS A TEACHER! but I guess Ken was trying

                                                               to make that
point in the

tounge and cheek..
