I would like to thank Hermit, Richard Ozer,Herb Kasler, Dave McCarter,
Richard Schwartz, and
Bob May for your response to my question about the tile that popped off my
grinding tool.
I did skip it across the lake and got four skips before a largemouth
bass jumped up and swallowed it.!
I have since continued grinding with no apparent problems. I did notice
just before the tile came off
that I was experiencing "drag" , like I had a dry spot, it didn't
push right. I now know it was the tile comming loose... Richard
asked what type of tool I was using.. The tool is
made of dental stone and I originally poured the tool with the tiles poured
into the dental stone. The problem arose that I had used inferior
tiles and by the time I got past 120 grit I had no tiles left. At this
point I epoxied "hard tiles" to the tool
using my mirror for the mold (covered with plastic)...
Dave asked if I have checked the rest of the tiles because if one goes
there is a posibility that others
may be on the way.. Yes I am more than ever aware now , and at the first
sign of "drag" I will stop and
inspect my tool.... RUSS JOCOY

I hope you all have Happy Holidays and
that the New Year brings
                                             all the best...Ain't life
Grand!....
