Mark, I have not as yet shipped a mirror, but styrofoam sheet (at least 2"
thick both sides) formed
to the diameter of the mirror sandwiched in between with a box of 1/8"
masonite or paneling bound
with straps both directions wrapped real tight should do the trick. Note,
the sides of this wrap should
also have panel or masonite also. If you can't do this make a box out of
plywood that will fit your mirror
nail it with wood glue, then take a circular saw and cut around the outside
perimeters to form two halves
take both shells and pack the sh.. out of them and put your mirror in the
middle. Put both shells back together and strap them together, or bound
them together with heavy duty tape.. Just remember the people handling the
box will not care what's inside, so insure it for two times the cost and
then some....
RUSS JOCOY
PS I believe that Dan Cassaro's website has some info on packing
mirrors, I think.. Pack it like it's a dozen Eggs.....
