-> There are some who vie for power and others that seek to be led -> by the nose. -> My canine for instance is a Pit Bull and he *requires* me to be -> the dominent leader or he's unhapppy becoming confused about -> the household hierarchy and mopes. -> To this day I require the dog to go promptly through a series of -> commands once a month for several minutes in order he not get -> confused about who's in charge and becoming potentially dangerous. -> In the hands of another the very same dog very well could be -> made lethally dangerous. Did you read the recent bit about the guy that was bit by his own sharpei. He got pissed off, called his wife at work and told her the dog bit him, and said he was going to kill the dog. After the call he started to beat the dog to death . . . with the stock of a shotgun. Big bang. Police show up, find dead dog owner, very well bitten with a huge hole in his abdomen, and a living dog. Pity is that he probably spread his genes before putting himself up for the Darwin Awards. Still, I love the irony. -> IMHO *any* institution that gets too much -> power becomes homicidally dangerous be it government or the church. -> Power to the people!!! Well distributed that is and not in the hands of -> a few. To many sheeple, too many lunatic alpha males about, -> what we need is a system to balance things out a bit. We've needed it for a bit. However, we are hard-pressed to come up with anything that works for very long that isn't tainted in some way. Sigh. We may have to muddle through with what we have now. I'm open to suggestions, though. -> I wanted to believe in an ideal society or deity when I was a very -> young child but by the time I was 12 I was seriously cynical -> about both. -> Since then I've tried very hard to base my opinions on facts and not -> idle speculations. Truth should always be based on fact, I think. I find it better that way, at any rate. I have an offspring that I'm bringing up. Very smart kid. Is consistenly annoyed and amazed that the bulk of the population appears to be much dumber. Wants to know how I put up with it. I just shrug. What can you do? The funny mentalists are out there, there's nothing we can do about it. I love people, but I think even a few of them are a waste of space. At least I don't act on it. It's small consolation, but all mine. -- Richard --- Platinum Xpress/Win/Wildcat5! v3.0pr3* Origin: The Coconut Telegraph BBS * http://www.coconutcomm.com (1:203/126) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 203/126 127 10/3 106/2000 1 379/1 633/267 |
