-> RS> Well, yeah. But not everyone works as easily with their grey matter. -> RS> Mikey's posts, for instance, resemble an attempt to open an umbrella -> RS> inside a phone booth. :) -> It's a lot worse in holysmoke where some participants are -> completely immune to logic and reason. Some of them seem to have voluntarily removed the sections of their brains with their home trepanning kits that deal with those things, yes. I've been there, hung around, bought the t-shirt, so to speak. -> I sometimes feel like I'm doing that when pondering recent -> discoveries in the field of physics. Slowing light down to 35 M.P.H. -> in a Bose -Einsein condensate, transmitting information faster than -> light in a highly charged environment and the accelleration -> of the expansion of the universe are but a few of the -> incredible to ponder discoveries of late that have solidly -> tested evidence to support them but defy intuitive thought. Can't say that I'm familiar with all of that, but I do find very interesting recent experiments regarding teleportation, as well as the new genetic discoveries that are appearing almost daily. My favorite science is still mostly theoretical when it comes to any useful bits: nanotechnology. Still, enjoyed Crichton's (sp?) recent novel Prey about just that topic. -- Richard Smith --- Platinum Xpress/Win/Wildcat5! v3.0pr3* Origin: The Coconut Telegraph BBS * http://www.coconutcomm.com (1:203/126) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 203/126 127 10/3 106/2000 1 379/1 633/267 |
