My mirror is 16 inches diameter, pyrex, 1.5 inches thick, and rests on a
six point support.  Mirror figure does not appear to be distorted by the
mirror cell...from the star testing done so far, and I've had the mirror
for three years.

This is no guarantee, but I hope it shows that it may be possible with your 18 inch.
