subject: ATM swap list

I am asked occasionally if it is OK to post "for sale" items on
this list, or links to items for sale. My answer, in keeping with our FAQ
(http://home.attbi.com/~dcass/atmfaq/atm-faq.htm) is that this list is not
an appropriate forum for such posts. That's because we all have stuff for
sale, and the list would quickly resemble a free for all swap meet at a
major star party! So I'm going to take a moment and advertise a forum in
which such posts are welcome. :^)

Ken Lowther has been kind enough to set up and run, the ATM-swap list
(http://www.atmsite.org/pipermail/atmswap/index.html). This is a free,
volunteer run email list, like the ATM list, specifically for buying and
selling ATM products and services. I recommend that ATM list members
interested in buying (or selling) ATM material consider joining this list,
as the volume of mail is extremely low (on the order of 1 message per week)
and the items on it are usually unusual, such as Ralph Seguin's
ultra-accurate spherometer
(http://www.atmsite.org/pipermail/atmswap/2002-October/000020.html) and
Kurt Sidor's HUGE maksutov corrector blank
(http://www.atmsite.org/pipermail/atmswap/2003-January/000026.html).

Thanks for reading this, and clear skies.
