BH> I am interested in learning programming on my PC and would appreciate BH> some BH> advice regarding where to start. BH> I don't have time to attend courses so books would probably have to be BH> the go. You may not have time to attend courses but through open learning you can learn and get credits towards a degree at the same time. I did elementary pascal through open learning last semester 1995. It was provided by the Central Queensland University in Rockhampton. I found it a worthwhile experience which demistified programming somewhat. I do not claim to be an expert but I did write a 300 line program with menu selections and it even worked. I am currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Business degree at QUT majoring in accounting and I got a credit for this subject as an elective. Hope this is a helps, I found it a worthwhile option.
