_I_ lived through that. And _I_ joined instead of being drafted, BTW.

BUT kids can be deferred if they get good grades and go to college!
The ones that can't "go there" WILL learn a bit of respect, and will be 
knocked down a notch from the "you can't do anything to me!" attitude.

If the youth mind-set, as is, is allowed to prevail we will have unruly 
adults raising even MORE unruly children. IMO.

Kids NEED a REAL threat to snap them into reality.
Shit, so do adults.

It's the punk ass parents that have created the unruly and totally out 
of control kids of today.
