subject: Re: [OS2HW] Brother 2070N printer

Kris,

I have solved the problem by using the version of the Laserjet driver
for the Brother 2060 which came with eCS RC4.

Just to explain a little further, the printer is attached to the eCS
box via USB and is then set as a shared printer on my peer to peer
network. On the Windows box I then created a network printer using
the Brother but, whenever I have done this, Windows comes up with a
message saying the correct driver is not installed - so I installed
the Brother Windows driver on that box. This worked fine with all the
documents sent from the Windows box and now works fine with the
different driver on the eCS box.

I've always done it this way in the past with earlier printers and
never had a problem. My experience with Windows is pretty limited and
I only use it as I have 2 accounting programs for my work that will
only run on Windows - so I do as little as possible with it!

Thanks for your time and advice.

kind regards,

Dave

prior to any test, I strongly advise to uninstall everything printer
like and have a reboot afterwards.
